USB

USB Universal Serial Bus…..let’s simplify? A plug.

It is a standard device, available on PCs, and it is designed to connect any external hardware to your main pc or laptop without rebooting. Most commonly I can plug a keyboard, a printer, my digital camera, a mouse, or any component that works in conjunction with my computer.

Besides connecting to other hardware components, I find of great use the USB available for storage in substitution to the floppy disc. My favorite is the USB also named flash drive. It is just handy as a key chain. Very convenient and ready to use to back up files and store documents.

Now there are external hard drives there has a larger capacity than your regular portable disc. USB was released in 1995 at 12 Mbps, and today it is available at 480 Mbps. USB came out 1.1 and was integrated at most computer 12mb/s, it used to be standard.

Later usb 2.0 were made at 480mb/s.

Before these were called firewire, it had a speed of 400 mb/s.
